It's 2018 and I'm redrawing "Changes" again! As I mentioned last year... The original drawing is about how sometimes you have to face a big change in your life - e.g. going to high school for the first time, or something as small as cutting your hair. If anything, the drawing could be construed as a metaphor for the big changes we make in our lives - the green ends of hair being cut off representing the past we seek to let go of. The issue with the 2015 and 2016 version was that for a piece with this meaning, it was not particularly evident. The girl had a vacant expression with no indication that this hair cutting process was difficult for her. In the 2017 redraw, I had taken steps to try and improve on this - more expression in the face for example. However I think this year I did a much better job - the composition has improved, pose and framing more natural and the expression conveys exactly what I wanted it to this whole time!
